Below is a list of trainings that will be required of the Church Planter. These are working trainings that will help both prepare the planter as well as assist them with the development and execution of a ministry plan. If the Parent Church Pastor can be involved in these, it will ensure that there is proper alignment of vision, values, and strategy with the parent church.

Administrative Grant

This is a grant that is available for start-up costs, leadership development, and administration for a new church. This grant is part of your initial application process. (1-year grant renewable for a second year upon request)

Capacity Building Grant

The Capacity Building Grant is our way of investing in sustainable growth for your church. It can be used in various ways including, but not limited to, outreach events, computer software or church management tools, (i.e. Planning Center, CDM, Quick Books, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, etc.), leadership training, financial audits, program development, equipment, etc.

Matching Funds

In addition to the OCMN Grants you can apply for, the Church Multiplication Network and AGTrust Matching Fund is a proven financial tool that serves as an accelerator to church multipliers.

Once you’ve applied for your¬†Grants, CMN Matching Funds and have engaged any potential sponsors for your church plant, you’ll be ready to move on to the Building part of the Church Planting Development Process.

In this stage, you will put everything in place for the Launch and first service of the church plant. You will organize leaders, programs, and other materials to start and build your church.

Here is a list of some of the main components you will need to focus on:

  • Set your Launch Date
  • Engage with your community and develop relationships with your neighbors, schools, city hall, etc.
  • Complete¬†federal-level legal & corporate actions
  • Complete state-level legal & corporate actions
  • Develop your website
  • Create and being using social accounts
  • Branding/logo design
  • Business cards
  • Develop a fundraising strategy
  • Establish a prayer team
  • Recruit launch team members
  • Build awareness in your community
  • Plan and host first community event
  • Finalize your venue
  • Start launch team meetings
  • Obtain remaining printed or other marketing materials needed
  • Purchase equipment
  • Establish systems
  • Sermon planning
